trikes and tutus

lap of luxury

Sweet Drake. It was Kate's bean bag. It is now Drake's pillow.

Thank you, Moores and Thomases

For Christmas, Kate received a sidewalk chalk implement. I saved it until spring and finally pulled it out the other day to see what it could do. Kate has enjoyed playing with the "rake" and has decorated our driveway and my mom's patio.

She only takes a quick moment to yell at Drake. Multi-tasker!

"look at me"

I can climb up and down all by myself at Aunt Martha's house!

ride on!

Kate has three trikes, not including the two at the babysitter's house. She loves being on the bike and is learning how to make them move. Sometimes she peddles; other times, the Fred Flintstone method is applied. Either way, she will need a helmet once speed becomes an issue.

last morning at the beach

I don't need help, Daddy!
Yea, Grandpa!

pennies...or kate...in the fountain

Reprisal from last year. Same fun. First ice cream cone. With sprinkles.

beach time

After dinner, we went back to my mom's condo to visit. Kate, of course, wanted to hit the beach. Soon the dress was off...then the bottoms. What a fun time.

Tommy Bahama's

Wow! An umbrella.
playing her "violin": a straw and an umbrella.

Kate's accomodations

I didn't know she was too long for a pack 'n play. Oops. She loved the second bed on the floor.

"I think I can..."

I am not sure who is enjoying the story more...Kate or Grandpa.

careless mothering

New flip flops. Still don't have the hang of them.
She put her glasses on herself.
And off she goes for "coffee."

pool day!

So Kate isn't the only one who has problems smiling...

Swimming at the condo. The weather was incredible!

hangin' with the grandparents

Clothing optional at casa Rogers. Kate enjoyed her "Easter" shopping basket. She had many phone conversations with grandpa, too. She seems to be reading him the riot act.
Each night, Kate enjoyed a story with grandma. They were even better when grandma had her reading glasses. (notice the silver cup of M&Ms in Kate's hand)

Day One: Naples, Florida

Boycotting going to the farmer's market with Mom, Fran, and me. She wants to build castles instead.
OK, attitude change with Aunt Fran. Downtown at the market...and enjoying being outside!
Building castles. She loved the sand this year.
Lunch by the pool. I think Kate could get used to this.
