hair cut

29 June 2010

The last time I cut Kate's bangs, I was told (by Fran) that Kate looked like she came from an orphanage. SO...we went to a real hair stylist.
Kate was awesome during the haircut. She had Mary Lou laughing through it all. We *heart* Mary Lou!

The final cut...new bangs and layers for summer!

summertime fun

23 June 2010

It is blistering. Sweltering. Oppressive. What's a girl to do but...
run (uninhibited by clothing) through the "sprinkles"?

Kate's new bike

21 June 2010

"Mom" got a new bike last week and while in the store, she got a new bike for Kate (thanks, Mom). Kate has "mastered " the trike, I guess. :-) Kate was more interested in letting her princess, Snow White, ride on the bike.
Is my daughter really this old?

Happy Father's Day

Not your typical Father's day photos, but Kate wanted balloons at the party...and candles. We weren't sure of lyrics for the Happy Father's Day song, but Kate did well. And, of course, we had to cheer when she blew out the candles. Aunt Jenny and Daddy were there to help her out.

daddy's "helper"

Matt was cutting a watermelon to put in containers. Kate, ever the helper, wanted to watch. Don't be alarmed about the knife; she is great at not touching it.
This is Kate's idea of help -- you cut, Daddy, and I will eat it.
I might put one or two in the bowl, but that is a might...

Notice the watermelon juice dripping off her chin. Caught in the act!!

Lilly Girl

14 June 2010

"Aunt" Martha brought Kate this present from Key West. Not the best picture, but the dress is cute!! :-)

left on her own

While Kate was coloring, I left the room. Just for a minute. To go to the bathroom. When I returned, my sweet, independent girl looked at me like this. What she said was "Mmmmm...coffee." She wasn't kidding, either. Time to buy stock, folks!

Lynn's Paradise Cafe

Kate's first visit though there will be more. Who can go to Louisville without one meal at THE cafe?
Kate found the princess hat on her own. I stood firmly and said no to purchasing it.
She even found the perfect chair to sit in while wearing the hat. I am in t-r-o-u-b-l-e!

Last week

When we could actually go outside after 7 a.m. Please let this heat (and heat index) go away. Please. Or let me learn to tolerate heat!
My sweet girl wants to go out to play again before September 2010!

airplanes, airplanes (part 2)

12 June 2010

The T-34s getting ready for take-off.
Oh the anticipation of the formation flying is killing Kate!
There they go! Smoke and all!
Lost in her own world. Kate loves airplanes. So fun to see the airplanes.

fashion lesson

To make the trip to the pulmonologist more fun, Matt, Kate, and I went to the zoo for a little vacation. We only made it through half of the zoo before it was time to go, so we will be going back sometime. At the gorilla stop, Kate thought he was hilarious (and it may have been a she).

However, she felt he needed clothes. Perhaps like her dress?

didn't cost a thing

The expressions by both parties in these pictures make the viewer think it was the scariest ride of Kate's life. It wasn't.
