Trick or Treat(ing)

We did the neighborhood thing this year, and Kate totally enjoyed riding in the wagon, pulled by Annie, with Tate as her co-pilot. The amount of candy she has consumed in the last few days is out of control, but she is not complaining of a tummy ache yet!

Halloween Party

23 October 2010

US Marshals (channeling the show Chase), the Chiquita banana girl and her banana, a vampire and a doctor, bowlers, and a ref - what more do you need?

frightfully cute...just as her shirt says

We went to Trunnell's today to get some carving pumpkins.  Kate was about choosing her own pumpkin...
and lifting it all by herself!
She actually posed for some pictures for me, too.  She even attempted looking at me and smiling.
 attempted, I said.
BUT, it was too much fun to just pose!

Friday night we went out with Tommy and Fran for Pizza. Super excited about seeing them again, Kate ate one piece of pizza and then threw up. At the table. Which is family-style with other families sitting closeby. She was fine after, but we didn't have the best outfit for the art opening we attended after. Oh well. No real pictures of the night, either.

Piedmont PARK

Kate giving Daddy a hand at swinging.
A cool slide at one of the parks in Piedmont Park.
Kate was a daredevil with the slides!
Moving into the "BIG" swings -- and needing a little push.

waiting for the King of Pops

Looking a lot like a teenager at Fran's local coffee shop. Waiting for a popsicle at the end of the night.

Got it -- Strawberry lemonade for Kate, something and mint for Frannie.
Too cold to hold herself!

Yo Gabba Gabba

Kate, mom, Martha, and I went to Louisville to see Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE! It was entertaining for Kate and everyone else was a trooper! We had a great "girls trip." Dinner was at Jeff Ruby's where we scored a lounge table in the bar. And there was a super-awesome piano player in the bar that kept Kate entertained for our entire meal!

The musical guest group at Yo Gabba Gabba was a little loud for Kate's taste.
She already knows how to make hilarious faces...no idea what she is thinking here.
Balloons, Mama! Kate spotted them at the very beginning and could not wait for them to fall from the ceiling. My mom, bless her heart, went all the way to the front to get one for Kate. In red, because that is what Kate wanted.
Some of the Gabba Gang! Thanks, Mom and Martha, for a fantastic trip!

KidStuf

My friend, Kelly, invites Kate and me to go to church each Wednesday night for the kid program. We have made a night out of it by taking dinner to the play area and letting the kids run "free." After this, we go to a program where there is a skit, singing and dancing. Due to these activities, Kate thinks church is a blast and asks to go almost every day.

Kate enjoying her time in the play area.
"Tape" playing. His real name is Tate, but Kate thinks it is Tape; it works because he thinks hers is "Cake."
Last week the kids were given glasses that represent taking the initiative; seeing what needs to be done.
Sweet Annie -- Kate's pseudo sister.

Martha gave Kate a new fish. 1 dog, 2 cats, 1 fish. We are rocking animal rights at our house.

happy trails

Kate took her baby all the way around the block on her trike. Super big deal since it was a long block!

(another) Saturday in the Park

02 October 2010

Kate was contemplative today at the park. It has been a long couple of weeks and she must have been feeling it today. Last week, Matt had surgery on a ruptured cervical (as in neck) disc. He has been off work all week and is healing nicely though he can't do much. Like no exercise. For over a month. And he hasn't been able to do it for six weeks prior to the surgery. So, he is not the happiest guy around. Kate began THE cough again because of the weather changes, but we think we have a grasp on what is happening, so maybe this time, she will do better. I hate the coughing, but I can't keep her inside. This girl was meant for the outside!
