The end of April

30 April 2013

Once again I am playing catch up.  We have had many nice days outside, and we have spent as much time as possible enjoying the out of doors.  Jack has been for rides in the wagon, car, John Deere, stroller, wagon, and second car (because, well, you know, boys and their toys). Thank goodness big sister loves to help and push or drive him where he wants to go!

We had some grilling nights when Daddy wasn't working at ballgames.  Lots of sweet potatoes for this group!

Norman even came to visit again!

Happy 40th to me, beach-style

14 April 2013

Thanks to Shannon's awesome idea, Susan and I were able to celebrate our 40ths with our girl group.  From Wednesday to Sunday, we stayed at Shannon's beach house.  Without kids.  Without alarms.  Without (real) worries.  We talked too late each night, but it was such a great, great time!  We "lunched" at the Port Royal Club and then sunned on their beach.
Sunscreen and hats were a new addition for us.
Coverups are also new.  As opposed to Umbros/Soffes and t-shirts.
We did pile into the minivan and ventured to the mall.  Damage was done.  There were SIX of us, after all!
JJ gifted us with the cutest clutches that we all carried to dinner at Campiellos.

We donned camp t-shirts for world Apparel day (a day later).
This was the ride Susan borrowed for me.  It was quite a conversation starter when Marjo and I drove to the mall with the top down.
Ashley was the shell guru.  She knew the names of them and explained the differences.  Super cool!
We went deep sea fishing.  JJ is missing from the picture due to a strong need to sit in a chair after the expedition.

Lots of gabbing, even on departure day.

Cocktails on the boat one night.

A spill at John's that Ashley quickly took care of.

Dolphins who followed our boat through the bay.

Baby Osprey and a mad mama!
 Ashley looking for shells.

Susan caught the two biggest fish.  Both Groupers.

A home cooked meal the last night so we could gab around our table.
This was such a fun trip for all of us.  The craziest part was we had not been without kids together since 2003.  Sixteen kids between us.  Get ready, CL and CLH...they are coming to you!

Florida Fun

13 April 2013

We had a yummy family lunch at the Dock.  Kate enjoyed it!
She also got to spend a little more time at the beach with Grandpa and Daddy.  Daddy snapped this picture of Kate.
 Many park days spent swinging.
 Splashing in the fountains.
Poor Grandpa and Grandma.  They are going to find toys for the next month.
Grandpa and I took the kids to Cambier park to hear the band music.  Both kids enjoyed it and even got to play as well.
No one likes goggle pictures, but Kate looked so good in her third pair that I had to snap one.
And Jack, with his swimmer bod, enjoyed pointing and giving directions for where he wanted to go.
Another Breakfast at the park day.
Miss Independent.  Skirt in one hand, ring in the other.  Mama carrying the heavy stuff.

Mr. Climber.  Jack learned to walk on this trip and he spent most of the time getting into anything he wasn't supposed to.  Thatta guy!

Hanging with Grandma while Kate and Grandpa went to the zoo.
Who me?  I wasn't going to try to climb the bookshelf!

Kate working a big princess puzzle.  Last day of swimming and she can't hear me tell her to get out.

On the plane home to see Daddy!
