Scarecrow Festival 2010

18 September 2010

This design was amazing. Even more amazing was the fact that middle school art students created it. Go, Degas! Kate posed in a ballet move while I was taking the picture, but I didn't get it. So funny that she knew what to do. I cannot wait for her to turn three so she can take classes in dance.

Yeah, just wanted to show a cool picture I took of a pretty butterfly. On a flower.

scarecrow festival

Today, mom, Kate and I went to the Botanical Gardens to see the scarecrow entries. Kate also painted a pumpkin and made a mask, but I left both at my mom's house...no pictures. This is the beginning of the painted pumpkin, however.
Kate was not sure what to think of this "artistic" entry. A little unaware of what "scarecrow" means.
I liked this one and threw in the picture of his head.
Notice that while I am smiling away with the scarecrow, Kate has taken my coffee out of my hand and is drinking it. She loves skinny vanilla lattes, too.

swings and hula hoops

12 September 2010

September's weather has been just what the doctor ordered for us! We could use a little more rain, but I won't complain one bit about the low humidity and cooler temperatures. In fact, we have had our windows open for the past two weekends. Kate has been swinging daily -- in jammies or clothes! She doesn't care.
Even princesses like to hula hoop -- on he back porch!
The life...of Kate!
"I too little, mama."

Kate and Norris

Norris is a long-time family friend.  He frequently reads Kate's blog to see what she has been doing and so, we thought we would surprise him by posting a picture of them...TOGETHER!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Strawberry cake with a random assortment of candles.  What more could any daddy ask for?
