slowvember

22 November 2012

I wish I could say we had been out doing all sorts of crazy things during November, but the only crazy things going on were sickness, allergies, cleaning, crying, sleeplessness, and general angst.  I feel rotten complaining about sleepless nights and sick kids when there are sicker kids in the world, I really do.  BUT, I am so tired of my kiddos being sick for weeks.  There has been no real reprieve, so that said, here are the happenings...

Jack has found Drake's toys.  Drake has found that Jack likes Drake's toys.  Kate and I have found that we must watch Jack every second he is awake or the duck/ball/food/water bowl are all fair game.

Jack gained four teeth on the top.  Foam letters because chew toys in the bath.  Jack also loves the bath, so we often hang out in there for about 30 minutes.  He plays in the tub, I clean out my purse.  Win-win.

We are trying to attend church each Sunday.  We have not made a record, but we have made it to church.  Jack's sleep schedule is ever-changing, so this means his nap schedule is as well.  One of the perks to church is lunch after.  Kate requested Moonlite.
Kate got the cutest card from Fran for Halloween.  She is modeling it.
This is the happiest guy I have ever been around.  Smiley most of the time, even when coughing, even with a runny nose, even when cranky.  Love this little life-changer!
For three weekends we had Norman visiting.  One weekend was super nice, and we took advantage of it and went for a walk.  We ran into the Austin family and walked to their garden to get some fall produce.  The dogs decided to cool off in the lake.  Matt yelled for them to get out; I figured the damage was done.  Good times for the boys!
Lots of nighttime rock sessions with Daddy.  I am not allowed in for long during these sessions, but I think they are wonderful.  Kate plays, Matt plays, and Jack does percussion.  I have time to myself.  Another win-win!

coffee table swap and loving on Drake

15 November 2012

Jack enjoyed taking the foam corners off the coffee table and chewing on them.  The corners of the coffee table were sharp, so we had to rethink life with this boy.  Fran sent her coffee table home with my mom, so we are currently "borrowing" her softer one while Mr. Man gets acclimated to mobility.  Kate used the old one as a stage, table, desk, and lounge chair before Matt finally took it to the storage unit.  Here they are sharing Cheerios.
Jack has begun a relationship with Drake.  Jack is far more into it at this point than Drake, but Drake does not mind when he is all over him.  (Thank goodness)

What's your favorite color, baby?

02 November 2012

Red or White?  Both of these sweet girls wanted to cheer on DC for halloween.  Kate really wanted to see Annie, so Matt took her over to see him (I had already gone home with Jack).  I love that these two will be forever friends!
