kidding, right?

17 November 2008

This post is not about our family in any way; however, I was reading my emails and this crazy cake pan was in my inbox. When I thought about the effort and all that was involved, a few phrases came to mind (none of them can be posted here because Kate will be reading these at some point). I just wondered who has the time for this? And, if it is you, I will gladly send my address for the delivery of the cake.

fall days

09 November 2008

Saturday we went to the regional cross country meet (DC took home both the girls' and boys' title). During a little down time, Kate enjoyed swinging with her Dad.

flower power

02 November 2008

Trying to get a picture of Kate with the hat on and her eyes visable proved difficult. I am seriously thinking about stuffing her hat, putting her back in the outfit (when it isn't 75 degrees outside), and attempting more pictures just so I can justify the PBK flower costume.
She was so hot, she didn't want to participate in any hugging, even though grams got her cool toys instead of candy!
Posing by the big pumpkins...really cute picture in my mind. Actually doing it...not so much.
And this is how it ended. Maybe next year...

here's the story...

26 October 2008

of a girl named Kat(i)e, who met her great-great aunt Florence Henderson! Florence was in for a show and today was the family function where Kate shook her maraca with Aunt Flo! Pretty funny, huh?

evening activities

20 October 2008

Now that Kate is a mover (she has always been a shaker), the evening is spent chasing her around after bathtime and before bedtime. Within an hour we began reading a book but became sidetracked by a commercial with music,
played some music on the learn 'n groove table,
conducted the orchestra (okay, really Kate was just testing her balance since that is a new skill she is practicing),
and finally read a small book of colors. Whew! I am ready to collapse, too -- especially since I began 5:00 A.M. workouts with a girlfriend this morning. Is 8 p.m. too early for bed? I think not.
p.s. Jamie...the footed jammies are for you! :-)

hanging out with friends

12 October 2008

Today we went into Decatur to Fran's old stomping grounds. While there, Kate had a meeting with Thomas Jefferson (both with Matt and without). This afternoon, we spent time at the neighborhood park. Kate enjoyed swinging and playing in the grass while Matt and Marci tried out the silly-looking teeter-totter. Everyone was a winner. It was blustery for most of the day, too.

Georgia Aquarium

11 October 2008

Today was the visit to the Aquarium. It was like a Disney World crowd in confined spaces. Everyone was trying to see the same tank, the same fish, the same whale, the same otter...all with strollers. We have rethought going to the Zoo tomorrow and will wait until Monday when (hopefully) less people will be interested. We're new at this, so all is a learning experience. We did manage to have fun and see different fish. Kate especially liked the huge tank where she crawled around in front of it just looking up at the fish. She also liked walking under the tanks and seeing the fish swimming above.

thinking out of the exersaucer

09 October 2008

Why can't I play under my exersaucer, Mom? Way more fun than IN it! Plus, sometimes I find a stray Cheerio under here.

facing forward

NOW, doesn't this look like a party face? Finally Kate has been turned to see the world beyond the leather seat and this is the look of gratitude I get. Can't wait to travel to Atlanta this weekend!
