Bubbles at Mimi and Papaw's

That darn bunny! He also went to mimi and papaw's and brought new bubbles, stickers, and chocolate! Even though the weather was yuck, we pressed on and found a break in the rain to blow the bubbles outside.

Super-fun butterfly wand that was made for this princess!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Easter was celebrated inside this year. You may not know it, either, but just as Santa comes into a house with no chimney, the EB is able to enter while children and parents sleep and hide eggs. Hey, I had to say something that worked so that Kate could find the eggs Easter morning. It has rained here for a week and there is no end of this until at least Friday. I am sad the EB could not fit a boat in an egg, because that would have been more useful than outdoor games!

Creative hiding places. We have found many more since this hunt. We play it quite a bit.

The grass stuck to Kate's fingers and she was not sure what to do once it did. She has been a choc-o-holic since Easter though. That is FOR SURE!

takin' it to the streets

22 April 2011

Last year, Kate would not ride her bike because it meant she had to wear a helmet. This year...totally different story. She could not wait to ride her bike. We picked out a new helmet (Princesses), added a basket (for Ducky), and she was ready! I don't remember learning to ride a bike with training wheels, but I doubt it was as easy for me as it seems to be for Kate. She was ready for this!

After a few cruises in the neighbor's driveway, she took it out in the street. I did not think we would go far; short legs and all. But this kid? Yeah, she was ready to roll! We did stop a few times to pick flowers to put in the basket, but she was so darn good! We have been back to ride a couple of times since then and she keeps surprising me with the distance she is riding. Proud Mommy here!

And the 70's bangs? Just an added benefit of the helmet!

out on the town

Saturday night brought Carri back to play with Kate so that Matt and I could go to prom. I had to work the 8-10 shift, so the only thing I really wanted to make the night count was dinner out! We had a date night at the Bistro (yum) and then went to "Breakfast at Tiffany's." It was gorgeous. As I was checking the students in, I received this picture from Carri.

Yeah, I don't think they missed me much.

make-up lessons with Carri

Last week, Kate got new make-up. From Carri the babysitter. The two of them had one heck of a time. Carri sent these to me at school. Very difficult to keep a straight face when something like this comes through via text.

Even more difficult when I see what Kate did to Carri.

privacy setting

09 April 2011

If you are wondering why you now had to sign in to view the blog, let me explain a little...there were cities being shown on a sidebar that were not places where people I knew lived.  It was becoming pretty routine, and that really bothered me after awhile.  With Kate getting older, Matt getting more involved in school situations and me sometimes blogging about them, and me showing the times we are NOT home, I got worried.  So, it is now an invitation only party (where I have no set guest list)!

just beachy

Many days were spent just hanging out on the beach.  Mornings, after lunch, and before bedtime we were on the beach.  The different tides, winds, and activities in the water proved entertainment enough for the kiddos and the parents were able to have real conversation.  Kate made fast friends with the two boys, and for that, I am thankful.  We even had two adult dinners out while the kids played with Rosario.

Charlie even made it out a couple of times.  More time was spent in the pool with the little man!

Snack time in the Captain's chair.  This was the first day these kids were together!
These "kids," too!  Sha and Mar.  Another boat, another coast, another good time!
 You talking to me?
