We woke early, headed to "Peace, Love, and Little Donuts" to pick up two mini donuts for Kate to eat at the park. We arrived at the park and no one was there. A little bit of time for our family of four to enjoy the park. There is something about the warmth of the sunshine that makes you want to throw your head back while swinging. At least both of my kiddos think so!
Jack has begun pulling one leg into the swing and actually crossing it over the other. It doesn't seem safe, so each time, I put it back in the hole. I push again and up comes the leg.
We came home, ate lunch and went to the pool. Knowing we were going to the beach later in the day, I told Kate she was going to nap while Jack took his afternoon nap. "I am not tired," she argued. I laid down to read my magazine with her, and this was Kate within five minutes. Almost two hours later, I woke her and we dressed for the beach.
Grandma helped Kate on her sandcastle building.
After a wardrobe change, Kate gave Grandma pointers on how the layout should go down.
Didn't they do a great job? Just kidding. This was next to us on the beach.
All smiles and sunscreen.
My two guys loving the wind in their hair.
Jack found a chair that was just his height, and sat for a bit. This was his first encounter in the dry sand. Daddy joined Kate for a few minutes in the ocean. "We went up to our waists," Kate proclaimed after she got home.
Still enjoying his chair.
My pretty girl loving the Gulf.
I told Kate to write her name in the sand. The waves kept washing it away, so we giggled while she tried to write it really quickly.
Grandma and Grandpa watched.
Jack in the sand. Not quite sure what to think.
See, I was at the beach too! :-)
